Bush Cinquefoil

Dasiphora fruticosa

Rosaceae (Rose Family)



Description: Also known as Shrubby Cinquefoil, this small shrub is generally one to four feet in height. The leaves are about two inches long and divided into three to seven leaflets. Flowers are yellow, with five petals, and about one inch across.

Habitat: Bush Cinquefoil is found throughout much of the northern hemisphere at elevations between 6000 and 12,000 feet.

Flowering Season: Flowers form from July to September.

Comments: This plant is likely to be listed as Potentilla fruticosa in most plant books and it is also sometimes listed as Pentaphylloides fruticosa.
