The main sites of interest in this area are:

Access to the Butte Valley area is either through Warm Spring Canyon or Goler Wash. Interesting sites in the area to visit include Striped Butte, Greater View Spring, Anvil Spring, Arrastre Spring, Gold Hill, Galena Canyon, and several abandoned mines. Access from Panamint Valley via Goler Wash requires a traversal over Mengel Pass, which is sometimes in pretty poor shape. Access from Death Valley via Warm Spring Canyon is much more reliable, but probably best done using a four wheel drive vehicle with offroad tires. |
