The main sites of interest in this area are:

Hunter Mountain can be reached by dirt roads from three directions. A road comes in from the northeast via Ubehebe Crater and Tea Kettle Junction. Another comes in from the northwest via Saline Valley. The other comes in from the southwest via the Highway 190 from the Darwin area. Hunter Mountain features a few square miles of pinyon pines. There are several excellent yucca forests in the general area. Also a number of springs and abandoned sites spice things up a bit. |
