A dirt road takes off from the highway a few miles up from Stovepipe Wells
that leads to the mouth of Lemoigne Canyon. The canyon splits into two
forks. The north fork turns into a road that tranverses the plateau area
north of Panamint Butte. The south fork leads to the Lemoigne Mine and a
couple interesting cabins. The Kerdell Prospect is located south of Lemoigne
Canyon and can be reached by hiking on a trail that begins at the Emigrant
Campground.
